New Festival Productions LLC released on Wednesday the finalized lineup for George Wein's Jazz Festival 55, adding some artists to the bill as well as scheduling artists across the three days of the event. The shows begin Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, 194 Bellevue Ave., with Etta James and the Roots Band. On Saturday, Aug. 8, the lineup includes Mos Def, The Branford Marsalis Quartet, The Joshua Redman Double Trio, Esperanza Spalding, The Cedar Walton All-Stars with Lew Tabackin and Curtis Fuller, Hiromi's SonicBloom, Ernest Ranglin, The Vandermark 5, Christian McBride, The Vijay Iyer Trio, Marsalis Music Presents Miguel Zenón; The North Carolina Central Big Band, The Branford-Joey Duo and Claudia Acuña, all at Fort Adams starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, sees Tony Bennett, The Dave Brubeck Quartet, The Roy Haynes Fountain of Youth Band, Michel Camilo, Joe Lovano's UsFive, The Bad Plus with Wendy Lewis, Conversation with Christian McBride, The Millennial Territory Orchestra, Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band, Rudresh Mahanthappa's Indo-Pac Coalition; Rashied Ali, Charles Gayle and William Parker's "By Any Means"; Alfredo Rodriguez and The Rodriguez Brothers. Tickets for the Fort Adams shows go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. online at www.jazzfestival55.com and by phone at (800) 514-3849. They're $69 per day for adults in advance, $75 on festival weekend, with two-day passes going for $125. Children ages 3 to 15 are admitted for $15 at all times; children under 3 are admitted free. Tickets for the Friday-night show go on sale Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m. Tickets for George Wein's Folk Festival 50 go on sale next month; organizers said a more detailed schedule would be announced shortly before that.
