Huey Lewis and the News will open The Nantucket Nectars Sunset Music Series, at the Newport Yachting Center, organizers announced Tuesday. Lewis will play Thursday, June 25. Tickets go on sale Wednesday; they're $70 for preferred seating and $60 for standard seating and can be had by calling the center at (401) 846-1600 or going to www.newportwaterfrontevents.com. Organizers have been announcing the schedule on a show-by-show basis over the past couple of months. The series also includes Michael McDonald on Friday, July 24; Los Lobos (with the excellent local Latin band Santa Mamba opening) June 26, Susan Tedeschi and Shemekia Copeland June 27; The Robert Cray Band July 25; Chris Isaak July 29; Guster Aug. 7 and The Temptations Aug. 21.
