There have been no confirmed cases of the disease in Rhode Island. According to a press release from Cicilline's administration, the city has been in close contact with the Rhode Island Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The city's Emergency Operations Center is on Level I Watch monitoring the progression of the flu, and has in place a state-approved plan to mass-distribute medicine if necessary.
