PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Jury deliberations continue Wednesday morning in Superior Court in the murder trial of Nicholas Gianquitti, who is accused of killing Cranston Fire Lt. James Pagano. Gianquitti, a former Providence police officer, fatally shot Pagano during an argument in the doorway of Gianquitti's home last May. Pagano punched Gianquitti after going to Gianquitti's home to confront him for yelling at Pagano's nephew after a ball hit a car in Gianquitti's driveway during a game children were playing in the street. Gianquitti testified that he acted in self-defense in shooting Pagano. Get the latest blog posts from the trial. ExtraOur continuing report on the shooting of James Pagano. |
