PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- An East Providence woman was indicted for one count of manslaughter in the August 2008 death of her 85-year-old father-in-law. The East Providence Police was dispatched shortly after 2 p.m. on August 15, 2008 for a disturbance in progress at 2 Irving Ave. Capt. Walter Barlow said Friday that the officers found Harold Larsen laying down, complaining of back pains. It was alleged Theresa Larson, 44, of 107 Irving Ave., shoved him backwards during a family altercation. He hit his head and hip on the asphalt, but was conscious and taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Barlow said he had a fractured pelvis, but "never made it out of the hospital." Harold Larsen died 14 days later. The police put together a case and sent it to the Attorney General's Office for review. The Providence County Grand Jury handed up the indictment Thursday. Theresa Larsen will be arraigned in Providence Superior Court on April 29. |
