Economic Development Corp. switches PR firms

Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation has dropped its public relations firm, Cutler & Company, and hired Duffy & Shanley.

The move comes as the agency struggles to promote the state's economy to businesses amid a deep economic downturn. Rhode Island's unemployment rate hit 10.5 percent in February, a 30-year high and the fifth highest in the country.
