WARWICK, R.I. -- Alfred "Freddie" Bishop, who was convicted in March of killing a man during a burglary, was denied a motion for a new trial Monday in Kent County Superior Court.

Bishop, 66, broke into 43 Warwick Lake Ave. after midnight on June 28, 2007, killing Gabriel Medeiros and wounding two other people in the ensuing struggle. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15.

Bishop, described as one of the state's most dangerous men, was convicted of one count each of first-degree murder, burglary and discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in death, and two counts each of discharging a firearm while committing a crime of violence resulting in serious bodily injury and assault with a dangerous weapon. The jury also found that Bishop committed the murder intentionally during the commission of the burglary -- a designation that means he could receive life without the possibility for parole for his crimes.

The question isn't why isn't Freddie getting a new trial, the question is how could any thinking person of conscience allow this psychopath out on parole in the first place. It was common knowledge to all who knew Freddie back in the 60's and 70's that as soon as his ankle bracelet came off that he would kill again. You see, Freddie kills for the same reason that Tom Brady throws footballs, Tony Bennett sings, and Robin Williams does funny stuff; it's WHO THEY ARE and WHAT THEY DO!!! What a lame excuse for a parole board!!!!!!!

I wonder if Walker would still think Bishop deserved a second chance if it was a member of his family or one of his friends that were killed while he was out on his second chance!
