By Thomas J. Morgan CHARLESTOWN, RI -- Chad M. Mancuso, 20, of Coddington Way, Wakefield, died Friday morning when his car left Route 1 at King's Factory Road and struck a tree, according to police. Lt. Patrick J. McMahon of the Charlestown police said the body was discovered after police received at call at 6 a.m. reporting the accident. He said the car traveled 100 feet before encountering the tree, and he said speed was suspected as a cause of the accident. He said the Charlestown police are reconstructing the accident. Mancuso was pronounced dead at the scene. McMahon said the body was turned over to the state Medical Examiner's Office. (An earlier version of this story was posted at 7:40 a.m.) |
