PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- If a Brown University student challenges you to a New York Times crossword puzzle competition today, don't take the bet. Today's Times puzzle, by Brown senior Dustin Foley, of Los Angeles, was unveiled on Saturday at a crossword competition at Brown. It was one of four future Times puzzles used for the tournament, three of them constructed by Brown students. Senior Aaron Mazel-Gee, 22, of California, won the tournament, presided over by none other than Will Shortz, editor of the Times crossword puzzle since 1993. |
