If we didn't know that economics was at the top of the news already, today's front page of The Providence Journal makes it abundantly clear.

It's all above the fold, from the Rhode Island state budget for FY 2010 proposed Tuesday afternoon by Governor Carcieri, to the reaction to it by Assembly leaders -- risky, they say -- to Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline's reason for deciding to run for that office again.
