PROVIDENCE -- A hearing that had been scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in the Station nightclub fire civil cases has been postponed to March 24 at 10 a.m. U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Martin has rescheduled the hearing at the request of lawyers representing the victims of the West Warwick nightclub fire, as well as lawyers for the parties they have sued for money damages. The victims are awaiting pay-out of a total of $176 million that has been offeed by all of the remaining defendants in the mass liability case. Lawyers for both sides have been working together to come to an agreement on the wording of a release form that will have to be signed by all the plaintiffs who are seeking money from the settlement fund. Way to go Attorneys. Pretty soon you will have all the damage money and the victims and their families will be left out in the cold. Every time things are postponed your hourly fees add up. And you wonder why attorneys have such a bad reputation.

Please leave our federal stimulus money out of this! If the people who made settlement offers don't have their monies, deal with them, not the suffering RI economy which needs the stimulus funds. Again, my condolences to all there that night, their families, the emergency response workers, etc. Politicians, take your doublespeak elsewhere and keep your hands out of our pockets.
