PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A man believed to be a customer of the Sportsman's Inn is being sought by thethe police in connection with a triple shooting at the strip club early this morning.

Police Maj. Thomas Oates said shooting stemmed from an argument between the customer and one of the managers just before the club on 122 Fountain St. closed at 1 a.m. The customer and a woman were going up to one of the inn's rental rooms above the strip club when the man got into an argument with Steve Rogers, a manager at the front desk.

The customer had spilled his beer on Rogers' head, but the manager thought that the customer had urinated on him, according to a police report.

As the argument became heated, some of the club patrons got in the middle, taking the manager's side, and the argument escalated into a fight, Oates said.

The customer left. About 15 minutes later, after the club closed and people were leaving, the man walked back into the front hallway carrying a handgun and opened fire on the crowd, Oates said.

One of the patrons who'd fought with the customer earlier, Joel P. Sennon, 30, of Providence, was shot multiple times in the hands and legs, Oates said. Bartender Donna A. DiFalco, 37, of Cranston, was shot in the head, and one of the exotic dancers, Jasmin M. Rosario, 21, of Providence, was shot in the legs. A bullet also grazed the boot of Walter G. Crawley, 52, a front-desk clerk, Oates said.

The assailant fled, but the police were able to obtain his identity and draw up an arrest warrant with multiple charges, Oates said. The man's name has not been released

DiFalco is listed in serious condition at Rhode Island Hospital, and Rosario remains at the hospital with less serious injuries, Oates said. Sennon checked himself out of the hospital early this morning, Oates said.

Listen to the Chief, "crime is down we solved the gun problem." What a joke...Maybe the Chief should hand out more "lolly-pops" downtown to help stop the violence. I can not wait until the PPD gets a real leader and not a cheap suit full of hot air....The guy is just a loser...simple as that....

Shooting people with a handgun in a bar over a misunderstanding is definitely the stupidest thing someone could ever do. I hope they nail the guy and give him some time. Maybe he can reflect on what a stupid, impetuous thing he do to the detriment of others.
