Two members of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, principal oboist Cheryl Bishkoff and principal flutist Susan Thomas, are scheduled to appear on CBS's The Early Show Wednesday morning to talk about food drives being conducted by orchestras across the country. The Philharmonic is one of 250 orchestras nationwide participating in the Orchestras Feeding America program, organized by the League of American Orchestras. It collected non-perishable goods before concerts in February and last weekend, items that are being donated to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Food is also being collected at the orchestra's headquarters, 667 Waterman Ave., East Providence, through April 30. For information about the types of food the orchestra accepts, go to www.riphil.org. Bishkoff and Thomas will appear between 7 and 9 a.m. |
