By Michael Janusonis Feinberg remembered Richardson as "really vivacious and kind.'' After Feinberg sent her a welcoming basket of goodies soon after she arrived in the state, "she sent a really nice note thanking me for the hospitality and saying that she loved being in Rhode Island because it was so beautiful and the people were so kind. "She said it was good to be able to work with her mother [Vanessa Redgrave] because it was so rare that that happened.'' In "Evening,'' Redgrave plays a dying woman remembering her past, and Richardson plays one of her daughters. Richardson won a Tony Award for her performance in a revival of "Cabaret.'' News reports have said that Richardson and Redgrave were planning to work together on stage in the near future in a revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical "A Little Night Music.'' "It was so tragic,'' Feinberg said. "I only met her twice and getting the letter from her had a very positive impact. She was a really classy lady.'' |
