U.S. Senator Jack Reed and six colleagues are urging President Obama to extend protected status for Liberians living in the United States beyond a March 31 deadline. If not, thousands of Liberians stand to be deported. "Liberians are making important contributions to Rhode Island and the nation. They have worked hard, played by the rules, paid U.S. taxes and made positive contributions to our communities," Reed said in a letter to Obama. "They legally came to America to escape a brutal civil war and seek a better life for their children, many of whom are American citizens. They are here legally and should be given the chance to stay." U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse , and Senator Edward M. Kennedy are among the six other senators who signed the letter. Reed said the March 31st deadline must be extended "in the short term," and the nation's immigration laws should be amended to extend permanent residency "to Liberians who have been living here and playing by the rules." More than 7,000 Liberians live in Rhode Island, constituting the largest per-capita Liberian population in the country. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. What would you expect from a bunch of far left liberal wack jobs.
Do they ever support anything that benefits hard working USA citizens? Can these idiots do any more damage? It's like, let's see what we can do to tear down this country.
There will, hopefully, be a special place in hell for wacko liberals.
