JAMESTOWN, R.I. -- A man and a woman face felony drug charges and another man faces felony weapons charges after they were arrested by Jamestown Police with the help of the Newport Police Narcotics Unit.

John Neronha, 49, was ordered held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions on two counts of distributing a controlled substance, crack cocaine. He was arrested at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jamestown Police Chief Thomas P. Tighe said today. Neronha's last known address was 22 Triton Dr. in North Kingstown.

Then this morning, Jamestown Police served warrants at 169 Cananicus Ave., apartment 6, one for a search and one for the arrest of Harmony Cabral, 28, on two counts of distributing a controlled substance, Vicodin. She was released after posting $500 cash.

Two weapons were found, one an Uzi that Tighe described as a 9-mm machine gun, and one a .35-caliber rifle that Tighe said was determined to have been stolen.

As a result, Joseph Antone, also 28 and also of 169 Canonicus, was arrested on two counts of possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of a felon. His previous felony conviction was delivery of cocaine, Tighe said.

Antone was being arraigned in District Court, Newport, this afternoon. Tighe said he expected Antone to be held without bail because of the previous conviction.

Tighe said the drug transactions took place in the presence of an undercover police officer during the course of a month-long investigation.
