| Rep. Dennigan eyeing run for lieutenant governor »
By Steve Peoples PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- This time it may be for real. While multiple deadlines have come and gone for Governor Carcieri to submit his fiscal year 2010 budget (it was due Jan. 15, according to state law), all signs suggest the governor will indeed meet a self-imposed deadline set for Tuesday to release the massive plan. The governor's office today formally scheduled a 3:30 p.m. press conference for Tuesday "to address questions regarding his budget plan" in the State House's State Room. Copies of the budget are expected to be released. Carcieri's budget is expected to address deficits for the current and next fiscal years that may exceed $1 billion. Governor, do what you've got to do in order for us to try to crawl out from under the massive debt load that the GA has dropped on us over the past (veto-proof) years. What the morons on the municipal payrolls don't understand is that if something drastic isn't done NOW that they'll be trying to collect pensions from a bankrupt corporation (Rhode Island)! The hacks have been lying to these people for 40 years in order to get their votes so they could stay in power and rob us blind! Good luck Governor.

I'll suggest something that would really save money in the prisons = no toilet paper at all. Install bathroom bidet sprayers in all the toilets and all they'll need is a towel to dry off. It's cleaner, cheaper (yes for those who just have to object to everything water is cheaper than toilet paper!), it's better for the environment and it has health benefits like lessening hemorrhoids which would save even more money. After they try it, like most people, they will like it. As Dr. Oz said on Oprah: "if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn't wipe it off with paper, would you? You'd wash it off" This is a logical, doable and simple way to save allot of money and actually improve the prisoners living standards. But of course like all new ideas people will find countless silly and inane objections, that is the way of things. Theses sprayers are available at www.bathroomsprayers.com I installed mine myself, easy.
