WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- A Woonsocket man was arraigned in District Court Tuesday on a first-degree child-molestation charge in the alleged sexual assault of an 8-year-old daughter of a couple with whom he lived. Mustapha Karamo Bojang, 36, of 130 East School St., is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions, in Cranston. He is scheduled for a bail hearing Feb. 17, according to Sgt. Todd Fernandes. Bojang, born in Gambia, is an illegal immigrant, according to Lt. Eugene Jalette, so after he goes through the judicial process for the current charges against him, he will be turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. Bojang lived with a Woonsocket family for about three years and during that time, he is alleged to have molested the 8-year-old multiple times when her parents were not at home, according to the police. The girl said the man threatened to kill her if she told her parents, the police said. The parents of the girl told the police Bojang moved out about a year ago. They said that sometimes Bojang would pick up their daughter at school because they both were working and he was on the emergency contact list. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil.
