Providence -- A woman was shot in in the side while sitting in a car in her driveway in the West End early this afternoon. Police Capt. James Desmarais said the shooting at 165 Wendell St. might have been accidental. A .40-caliber gun was seized by detectives, who are questioning a man who was with the woman in the car at the time, Desmarais said. He said tonight that the victim was in serious condition. The woman is being treated at Rhode Island Hospital for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil.
