| Woonsocket man charged in molestation of 8-year-old girl »
A Warwick man was arrested in Bedford County, Va., Wednesday night, after he and a local 13-year-old girl who'd been reported missing asked to use a resident's phone and the resident recognized the missing girl. Andrew Fitzgerald Holloway, 21, has been charged with three counts of carnal knowledge and two counts of soliciting carnal knowledge from a person younger than 15, according to The Roanoke Times newspaper. Holloway had met the Evington, Va., girl on the Internet several months ago, and according to the Roanoke Times, they'd been planning for him to visit so they could run away together, the Bedford County sheriff's office told the newspaper. The girl was reported missing on Tuesday. She and Holloway were found 24 hours later when they stopped at a house near her residence and asked to use the phone, The Roanoke Times reported. Investigators believed the two were cold and used the phone as an excuse to get warm, the sheriff's office told the newspaper. The resident recognized the girl from a missing person's flier and called 911. The girl was unharmed, according to the newspaper. |
