Twitter: projo | RSS | Email alerts Two new television pilots are to begin filming in Rhode Island in March, the Rhode Island Film & TV Office announced. Both programs are being produced by ABC Studios. "As a result, more jobs will be immediately available to our local crew and talent pool while we continue to build upon Rhode Island's important creative economy," said Steven Feinberg, executive director of the film and TV office. "This is further proof that our Ocean State has the heart and the resources to compete in even the most challenging of climates." One of the pilots is titled House Rules and will air on CBS. The show, to be directed by Dan Minihan, follows five freshman members of Congress. The other pilot is titled Empire State and is to air on ABC. It's to be directed by Jeremy Podeswa. It's about two Manhattan families, one working poor, the other wealthy, and a love story that arises between the families. "Providence's selection as a location for these two ABC pilots is a testament to the city's creative workforce, production-friendly policies and unprecedented collaboration between the R.I. Film & TV Office and our Department of Art, Culture and Tourism," said Mayor David N. Cicilline. |
