EAST PROVIDENCE, RI -- Two teenagers apparently drag racing on the Wampanoag Trail Friday afternoon have been hospitalized for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, after the car they were in went airborn and crashed into trees, according to the police. The crash occurred on the southbound side of the road -- also known as Route 114 -- according to Capt. Dennis Charbonneau. There were apparently two cars involved the drag race, one with two teenagers inside and one with three teenagers, Charbonneau said. The driver of one of the cars apparently lost control of the vehicle, which left the road, went airborn and wound up between two trees, Charbonneau said. The accident occurred in the afternoon after students got out of school, Charboneau said. |
