A memorial ceremony will be held Sunday as the sixth anniversary of the Station nightclub fire approaches. Dave Kane, a member of the board of the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, said the event will begin at 1 p.m. at the fire site on Cowesett Avenue in West Warwick. Kane said the names of the 100 victims of the fire, on Feb. 20, 2003, will be read aloud. That will be followed by 100 seconds of silence, he said. The Rev. Scott Gunn of Christ Church, Lincoln, will offer an invocation. Kane said that the fifth anniversary of the fire last year drew a larger crowd than usual. He was not certain how many will attend this year. "As the date recedes, I'm afraid that people will cease to remember it," he said. No one is ever going to forget this tragedy.

When are they going to do something useful with that piece of property. This is just morbid and I'm certain it cannot be healthy for the survivors or the families of this tragedy. Healing needs to begin NOW. I've been there, so please no hate mail regarding how "I just don't know."
