Shoppers at the Gap superstore midtown Manhattan have some new fashion options, thanks to a unique partnership between the San Fancisco-based retailer and the Rhode Island School of Design. Beginning today, the Gap store at 54th Street and Fifth Avenue is selling one-of-a-kind cardigan sweaters designed and decorated by RISD students. According to a news release, the students used materials "such as tulle, vintage lace, fabric dye and hand-rolled beads made from recycled paper to transform Gap's classic cardigans into unique and bold pieces that communicate Gap's focus on the importance of individual style." The cost of owning one of the 30 RISD-embellished sweaters: $68. CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. Vicious comments, personal attacks and profanity won't be published.
