TIVERTON_ Police are investigating the theft of an undisclosed amount of money from the Tiverton Little League, chief Thomas Blakey said.
The investigation, begun in mid-December, is expected to take another 4 to 5 weeks, Blakey said.
"There's a lot of paperwork," he said. Blakey declined to disclose any details.
The league's website says the Board of Directors is making "every legal effort" to recover the loss and take steps to prevent any future thefts. The incident will not affect the baseball and softball season, the directors said.
