By Tracy Breton PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Judicial Nominating Commission decided, during a closed door session tonight, to interview six candidates who have applied to become the state's next chief justice to replace Frank J. Williams. Superior Court Judge Francis J. Darigan Jr. and the United States Attorney for Rhode Island, Robert Clark Corrente, were also selected for interviews. The candidates will be interviewed by the commission in a public session on March 24. The commission will take public comment on the candidates at a second hearing on March 31. |
