PROVIDENCE - A fire in a three-bay garage behind 177 Lowell Ave. in Silver Lake destroyed three cars as well as the garage around 9:15 Tuesday night. Battalion Chief Joseph Desmarais said the cause was still being investigated, but it was believed that the fire began inside the garage. The blaze was so severe that the make of the cars was not immediately evident, according to the chief. None of the occupants in the house at the front of the property were injured.
