PROVIDENCE--Mayor David N. Cicilline will be interviewed at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday on the Fox Network's national morning show Fox and Friends. Cicilline's topic will be the importance of passing the President's American Recovery and Reinvestment plan. The Senate is scheduled to will vote Tuesday to approve an $827 billion version of the plan. Cicilline said that some important initiatives have been taken out or reduced in scope, "but overall I am confident that the stimulus package will have an immediate impact. It will accomplish the two key goals: first, allowing for the immediate creation of jobs and, second, by laying the foundation for a long-term, sustainable economic recovery." Cicilline last week joined a group of U.S. mayors in Washington to urge the Senate to take immediate action to pass the Recovery and Reinvestment plan. He was interviewed on CNN after that session and again on Saturday morning, with Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic to discuss the impact of the president's plan on local communities. Maybe the Mayor could fix a couple of the 2 million potholes in the City instead of going on TV. What a bum.
