WOONSOCKET -- The Beacon Charter School is closed for a second full day because of a a furnace malfunction. Principal Rob Pilkington said that the boiler is being replaced and that school is expected to open again Thursday. The school's 190 students were evacuated to the nearby Stadium Theatre Monday after the furnace overheated. (Correction: An earlier version of this item said the school was evacuated Tuesday.) |
