Twitter: projo | RSS | Email alerts NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI -- A Woonsocket man was arrested this week on charges he drove under the influence with children on board, the State Police said yesterday. Rafael Heagney, 31, of 432 Carrington Ave., was charged with driving under the influence while transporting minors under the age of 13; driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of .15 or higher, first offense; and reckless driving. The legal blood alcohol limit for drivers in Rhode Island is .08. Heagney is to be arraigned on the charges next Friday in Providence's 6th district court. According to a State Police news release, Heagney was pulled over on Route 146 north in North Providence after being clocked at 97 mph weaving in and out of traffic. Two children, ages 3 and 6, were in the car at the time. |
