PROVIDENCE -- The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to fill about 600 jobs across the state, including address listers, office clerks, recruiting assistants, crew leaders and field operations supervisors. The census employees will help develop an address list this spring to be used in mailing census questionnaires next year. The jobs are temporary and include full- and part-time positions. Pay starts at $17 per hour and varies by job and location. If interested, go to www.2010censusjobs.gov or call 1-866-861-2010 for job descriptions, qualifications, and applications. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and pass an aptitude test. Most jobs require a valid driver's license and use of a car. Extra: A full list of local testing sites and dates.
