| Pawtucket man charged with impersonating officer »
PAWTUCKET -- The police are investigating whether the attack Saturday night of a man delivering Chinese food to an apartment building on South Street is linked to two other attacks on South Bend Street. The police said Eddie Tse, 35, of Malden, Mass., was attacked from behind at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday as he was leaving an apartment building at 30 South St. Tse had gone to the apartment to deliver food from the Canton Wok on Newport Ave., but he left when nobody answered the door. Tse was beaten and robbed of $300, according to the police. Tse was knocked to the ground and beaten. His glasses got knocked off and he was cut near his eye, according to the police. He was treated at Memorial Hospital. Police said a second man may have waited for the attacker in a car. The police say the description of the men believed to be involved in Tse's attack is similar to descriptions given in attacks on South Bend Street earlier this month. The detective said the police arrested a man and a juvenile yesterday for the Jan. 19 incident. Jesus Merced, whose last known address was in Woonsocket, was charged with first degree robbery. He was arraigned in District Court yesterday. The juvenile is being held at the Training School, Rosciti said. |
