State Sen. Joshua Miller, D-Cranston, will head the Corporations Committee, which controls key legislation regarding state business regulations. Miller, who runs two restaurants in downtown Providence, learned of his appointment this morning. He announced his new role today at the Rhode Island Economic Summit, a gathering of small business owners. Miller, owner of the Trinity Brewhouse and Local 121 restaurants, replaces William A. Walaska, D-Warwick. The leadership change follows the election of M. Teresa Paiva Weed as the state's first female Senate president. For more business news, visit the Projo Biz Blog.. |
