A portrait of Rhode Island's former U.S. senator, Claiborne Pell, who died yesterday and who had served in the Senate for 36 years, will be displayed in the State House rotunda in Providence beginning Monday. The portrait and guest book will be on display through Monday, Jan. 12. The State House will be open to the public every day, including Saturday and Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The portrait of Pell is on loan from the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy at Salve Regina University in Newport.
