There's time to catch tonight's installment of the Wickford Festival of lights, which started at 5 and runs until 8 at Wickford Village, North Kingstown. There are store displays, concerts, and a holiday lighting, Santa will make visits -- arriving by boat in Wickford today as well as at tomorrow's and Sunday's installments of the Festival of Lights. Tomorrow, you can have breakfast with Santa from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event is free. Consult event Web site for schedule or call (401) 295-5582 or (401) 295-5566. Consult stores for specific hours.

I went with my son and did a bunch of holiday shopping. Wickford was so festive with luminaria, carolers, and strolling the sidewalks when lights sparkled in the trees really made the night for us! Avoid big box and shop local - it's fun!!
