PROVIDENCE -- The Providence police have identified the woman who was killed in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night as 41-year-old Gina M. Isom. She was crossing Atwells Avenue, near Cutler Street, when she was struck at about 10 p.m. by a vehicle that left the scene, according to Providence police Maj. Paul Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald described Isom as a woman in her 40s. He said she was alone at the time of the incident. An autopsy was sheduled for this morning. The police say they are looking for a black or dark-colored vehicle that fled the scene with front-end damage. -- projo.com staff and reports from the Associated Press |
