Barbara Walton-Faria, a science teacher at Frank E. Thompson Middle School in Newport, has been named the 2009 Rhode Island Teacher of the Year. Walton-Faria is congratulated by Newport Superintendent of Schools John H. Ambrogi following a ceremony at the school today.
