Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has agreed to a new contract with the team, the Red Sox have announced. It's reportedly a six-year deal worth $40.5 million. Here's the breakdown: Pedroia will get a $1.5 million signing bonus, $1.5 in 2009, $3.5 in 2010, $5.5 in 2011, $8 in 2012, $10 in 2013 and $10 in 2014. In 2015 he has an $11 million option. He has said all along he wanted a long-term deal in Boston and now he has it. -Joe McDonald |
