PROVIDENCE -- The government watchdog group Common Cause Rhode Island has appointed a new executive director. John Marion is an online instructor with the Indiana University Department of Continuing Studies who moved to Providence in 2001. The organization announced his appointment Thursday. Marion replaces Christine Lopes, who is completing her master's degree in public administration at Suffolk University. Common Cause advocates for open and ethical government. -- The Associated Press |
