CHARLESTOWN -- The police today seized marijuana and a small amount of cocaine after using a search warrant at a residence in the 4700 block of Old Post Road. According to a Charlestown police news release, detectives carried out the search at about 7 a.m. following a month-long investigation "about a home on Old Post Road that had a marijuana growing system in the residence." Investigators seized between one and five kilos of marijuana, the police said. The residence's occupant or occupants were not home at the time the warrant was served, the police said. The police said they are in the process of obtaining a felony arrest warrant for the occupant or occupants. Further information will be released as it becomes available, according to the police. -- projo.com staff writer Michael P. McKinney |
