PROVIDENCE -- A 19-year-old Woonsocket man charged with killing a man last month during a robbery is due in court today for a bail hearing. Robert Jones, 22, of 425 Diamond Hill Rd., Woonsocket, was found shot to death in his third-floor apartment on Oct. 26. David A. Montero, of Cottage Street, was arrested two days after the shooting and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, burglary, and conspiracy to commit burglary. Montero has been held at the Adult Correctional Institutions since then. The police at the time disclosed few details on the shooting other than to say preliminary reports indicated that it was drug-related and not a random act. |
