WESTERLY -- The Westerly police have released the name of the man killed yesterday in a motorcycle crash. He was identified as Broc W. Brown, 23, of Bradford Road, Westerly. The police say the victim was thrown from his motorcycle as he rode along Post Road near Westerly Middle School. The crash was reported at about 3:55 p.m. Emergency responders found the victim lying in the road. Brown was brought to Westerly Hospital, where he was pronouced dead. Westerly Police Chief Edward A. Mello said the department's accident reconstruction team is investigating and is expected to issue a report within about two weeks. -- With reports from the Associated Press CommentsLeave a commentPlease be civil. Broc Brown motorcyclist who died yesterday in Westerly- articleIf possible, would you be able to print if he had a helmet on or not when the information is available? It helps readers see the connection between lifestyle and outcomes. I wondered myself as I read the short article. I realize it is a short time ago and maybe the reporter could not find out this information, but still maybe they could still report that they asked about it and that detail was not available. I imagine the information was on the police report. Thanks.

I believe he was wearing a helmit and this came off as he was thrown through the air.
