PROVIDENCE -- The U.S. Courthouse's Centennial celebrations culminate today with a gala and reception. The Centennial Gala will start at 2 p.m. in Courtroom 1, on the courthouse's third floor, and will focus on the building's architecture and history. Speakers will include Dennis R. Smith, regional administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration, Chief Judge Sandra L. Lynch of the U.S. 1st Circuit Court of Appeals, Chief U.S. District Court Judge Mary M. Lisi, U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, and Glenn C. Rotondo, the GSA's assistant regional administrator. U.S. Supreme Court's Associate Justice David L. Souter is also expected to attend. The courthouse is at 1 Exchange Terrace. |
