PAWTUCKET -- A 53-year-old man today was charged with the robbery of a Sovereign Bank on Nov. 3. Robert Major, of 2510 Mendon Road, Cumberland, was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery at about 11 a.m. without incident by Pawtucket Detectives Donti Rosciti and David Connors, according to a Pawtucket police news release. Rosciti learned that Major had been admitted to a Rhode Island medical facility, which the news release does not name, since the robbery. Rosciti arrested Major shortly after Major was discharged, according to the police. Today's statement did not describe details of the robbery. A Nov. 3 Pawtucket police news release said that at 11:01 a.m. a man, described at the time as 50 to 60 years old, with short blond or gray hair and wearing prescription eyeglasses, handed a teller a note in the bank at 215 Main St. |
