PROVIDENCE -- Johnson & Wales University is hosting its annual Thanksgiving meal today for those in need.

The meal will be served in Snowden Hall, 220 Weybosset St., Providence.

This year's meal, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., will coincide with R.I. Project Homeless Connect at Beneficent Church, 300 Weybosset St., Providence.

Volunteer staff and faculty have cooked more than 1,000 pounds of turkey, 60 gallons of gravy, 1,500 dinner rolls, and more than 800 cakes and pies.

Last year, more than 1,200 people were treated to the holiday meal.
