PAWTUCKET -- The Hasbro Holiday Express -- a new program for the holidays -- kicked off today with Hasbro's life-sized TONKA dump truck stopping at its corporate headquarters, 1011 Newport Avenue. A second stop has been scheduled for next Friday at Cardi's Furniture Superstore in West Warwick. Donations of new blankets, boxes of cereal, or packages of diapers will be accepted at each of the stops from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For each item collected, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Rhode Island Toys for Tots. The blankets, cereal and diapers will be distributed to Crossroads Rhode Island and food pantries throughout the state. Team Hasbro members are on hand to accept the donations along. David Jones and Heather Gersten of Lite Rock 105's "Jones and Heather in the Morning" will greet and entertain donors from 1 to 4 p.m. Next Friday, entertainment will be provided by Kim Zandy and Giovanni of the "Giovanni and Kim Morning Show." |
