Gas prices in Rhode Island have dropped below $2 per gallon for the first time since March 2005, according to AAA Southern New England. The average price for regular, unleaded gasoline is $1.929 per gallon at the self-service pump, according to AAA's weekly survey. The price has dropped 18 cents in the past week. The last time the price was below $2 per gallon was March 7, 2005, when the price was $1.96. Thanksgiving travelers will pay $1.14 less than the $3.07 per gallon they paid last Thanksgiving. |
