REHOBOTH, Mass. -- The police said tonight they have solved a year-old housebreak in which $125,000 in valuables, mostly jewelry, were stolen from a home in the southern part of town. The break in the case came after both the Massachusetts State Police and Rhode Island Attorney General's office matched fingerprints taken at the scene, leading to the arrest of Ross R. Copeland, 24, of 400 North Main St., Fall River, Mass., on one felony charge of breaking and entering, two larceny counts, and one charge of destruction of property. Police Chief Stephen Enos said Copeland was picked up at Bristol County House of Corrections, where he is currently serving time for another breaking and entering charge. In Taunton District Court today, bail was set at $2,500 cash. He remains at the prison. Enos said investigators are currently working to recover the jewels. "Many times," he said, "the jewelry has sentimental value." He declined to reveal the address of the break, which occurred last November. -- Journal Staff Writer C. Eugene Emery Jr.
