CHARLESTOWN -- Want to help build your first home in exchange for a low-cost mortgage? South County Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for a three-bedroom home to be built on South County Trail in Charlestown. To qualify for the agency's no-interest, no-profit mortgages, applicants must be willing to help build their own home and others offered by Habitat. They must also attend an Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Kettle Pond Visitors' Center in Charlestown. Officials will talk about the Habitat program and provide application forms. To register, call 213-6711 or email the agency at schabitat@southcountyhabitat.org. -- Journal staff writer Paul Davis |
