A bail hearing is scheduled today for an 18-year-old accused of stabbing another man to death in Smithfield. Wanamaker tried to get into an apartment on Esmond Street, according to the police, next door to the Neighborhood Center where Menard was staying with Nicole Sherman, Wanamaker's former girlfriend. The couple woke up when they heard something at the window. Menard and Sherman went to see what was making the noise and they wound Wanamaker outside, the police say. Wanamaker and Menard argued and, according to the police, Menard stabbed Wanamaker three times, leaving him in a pool of blood behind the Neighborhood Center. Menard is scheduled for a bail hearing in District Court, Providence. |
